Tips to Consider When Buying an Outdoor Ceiling Fan

Ceiling fans are a great way to cool down. We all have seen a ceiling fan inside a house, but it is rare to see one outside. Throughout this article, we will go over the things that one should consider when buying an outdoor ceiling fan.

The Length of a Ceiling Fan Matters

You may be wondering whether the size of the ceiling fan matters and the answer is yes. It does. Ceiling fans play a big contribution to the space of your room. A huge ceiling fan will make the room look small and crowded. Also, if any objects are high, then the ceiling fan can hit almost everywhere, not causing any increase in its effectiveness, or comfort.

Size to Consider When Buying

As we talked about it before, having the exact size of a ceiling has a lot of benefits. Buying the ceiling fan according to these size standards will not only allow less space to be occupied but can also lead to an increase in its effectiveness. Firstly, you have to measure the area in which you want a ceiling fan. Just check the space where it is fully covered instead of spaces that are apart from the covered area. For areas that have square feet between 0 and 75, a ceiling blade should be between 29 and 36 inches. For areas that have square feet between 75 and 144, a ceiling blade should be between 36 and 42 inches. For areas that have square feet between 144 and 225, a ceiling blade should be 44 inches. For places that have a square feet area of 225-400, then the blade should be 50-54 inches. If you are not sure whether your measurements are true or you have a different case, then call Mr. Electric for us to send in our professional electricians to get the measurements for you and offer you our services.

Don’t Place the Indoor Ceiling Fan on the Outside

Aren’t they all the same thing you may ask? Can’t we place the indoor ceiling fan to the place of the outdoor ceiling fan? The looks may be the same, but no. An outdoor ceiling fan is designed to hold under harsh circumstances such as rain, sun exposure, and humidity. For this reason, placing your indoor ceiling fan outside will just harm both the place you want to place it and the ceiling fan.
